Z-net

Writer: brennaquinlanbrennaquinlan

Daylesford might be a small town, but it packs a political punch for its size.

Z-net is a community partnership working to make the Hepburn Shire the first net-zero emissions shire in Australia. They have a goal to be carbon neutral by 2030, and their detailed Community Transition Plan shows exactly how to get there.

They asked me to create two illustrations – the first to show a vision of the shire in a zero emissions future, and the second to show the ways in which agriculture can be turned from a carbon source to a sink. These kinds of complex diagrams are my favourite kind of work, they were an absolute joy to produce.

Brenna acknowledges the Minang and Bibbulmun people of the Noongar nation as the traditional owners of the Boodjar/Country where she works, lives and grows food. She is deeply grateful to elders past and present for their care and protection of this Boodjar over countless generations.  Sovereignty was never ceded.
